Welcome, April – I am so happy to great you!  Spring is truly in full bloom, and I feel like my entire mood has lifted.  We are spending more time outdoors soaking up the sun, and my beloved natural light extends long into the evening.

I am excited about this month!  Here are a few things I am looking forward to:

  • A wonderful Easter weekend with my friends and family
  • Being invited to be a guest blogger this month (more to come on that soon!)
  • Participating in Ali’s A Week In the Life photography project from April 19 – 25.

Yes, April is shaping up to be a wonderful month – and I can’t wait capture it all and share my images in this space with you!  As always, thank you so much for all of your support, comments, and e-mails – they mean more to me than you know.

Lately, I find myself  “chasing the light” with my camera.  With the arrival of Fall, the morning light is now my best friend – the days are so much shorter.   My beloved natural light is not available as long as it used to be!

One of my favorite summer time memories as a child is hearing the creak of my grandmother’s screen door opening and slamming shut, followed by the pitter patter of our little feet running in and out of the house.

She would inevitably scold us, “Stay in, or stay out!” but that hardly stopped us.  We’d just laugh head back outside, the screen door slamming shut behind us.  When it was time to eat, she would push the door open slightly, and stick her head out and call for us.  The creaking of the door announcing her presence way before we actually heard her voice.  Oh, I miss her so!
