Soaking in the beautiful colors of the season…..

I’m so happy to share with you today my 2011 Calendar, now available in my shop! This year, I decided to include images from my travels to Italy – including some polaroids from my Bella Italia series. I *love* how the calendar turned out, and I am sure you will as well!

My 2011 Calendar measures 5 x 7 inches (each image is 5 x5 inches) and printed professionally on Kodak Endura professional paper with a luster finish.
Definitely little pieces of art to brighten your day!

The calendar is unbound, which allows you to hang on your inspiration wall, display on desk, clip on your refrigerator, or tuck in your daily journal.

Here are all of the images from Venice, Florence, and Rome that are included:

You can get your 2011 Calendar from my print shop or etsy through Sunday, October 17 for a special introductory price of $25.
Thanks so much ♥

I’d like to begin by thanking my mother for letting me photograph her work. After I told her about my need to rejuvenate my creative spirit, she thought for a moment, then pulled out these beautiful journals that she has created. These are snapshots of her personal work, which she was kind enough to share with me.

There is a funny thing about artists – they don’t always see the beauty in what they create. Can you believe that my mother thinks her work is average? Oh, how I beg to differ.

The colors, the media, the words – she has drawn from so many places. A deep, inner peace and love to take her feelings and capture them graphically. I was amazed, here I was thinking that she only made cards! These are much, much more involved and intimate.

I sometimes wonder why I feel so at peace behind the camera. Where did the creative need stem from? Why do I feel the need to share my work with others? I received my answer that very day. I realized that it’s in my blood. It’s in all of us – our job is simply to find the creative outlet that shows our true spirit.

As I looked at my mother’s art journals, one piece stood out to me the most, which I will leave you with. When my mother showed me this, I fell in love. Maybe it’s her eyes or the curve of her lips. I simply *love* her.

I have to admit that I was blown away, simply because I had no idea my mother was such an artist. I hope that seeing these photographs of her work will convince her that she does, indeed, have a gift.

While I was away, I took a quick trip home to Louisiana. I love visiting my mother – she is a very creative spirit. Her studio is filled with tools that she uses to scrapbook, make cards, and her new favorite media – art journaling. We spent so much time here talking about creative projects and ideas. She has always been, and continues to be, one of the biggest supporters of my work.
Her space is filled with creativity – I can’t help but be inspired! Of course, I simply captured her space with my camera – she captures her thoughts and feelings with these tools.
Tomorrow, I’ll share some of her work!

Hello friends!
I have been away for a while, rejuvenating my creative spirit. And how wonderful it was! I needed time close my laptop and disconnect from my online world. Sometimes, I get so overwhelmed by my Google Reader and social media outlets – does that happen to you? It felt so good to take a step back. Not to mention spend some quality time with my girls.
I have so much to share with you since I’ve been away – things that have inspired my creative spirit and I’m sure that will do the same for you! I also received my 2011 Calendars from the printer, and I have simply fallen in love with them – I’m sure you will too. I’ll add them to the shop soon….
And so, “creative spirit” will be my theme for this week ♥

Can you believe that I’m actually on the other side of the camera?
I’m going to take a brief rest from posting – I need a bit of a rest to rejuvenate my creative spirit. There have been so many changes in my life recently, and I need a moment to step back and take it all in! I have a small trip planned, and I hope to return next week with more images to share.
Thanks so much to Shutter Sisters for selecting one of my images for the daily click!
I’ll see you soon ♥
