I want my daughter to grow up strong willed, confident, and regal.  I want her to know that she can stand equal next to her mate, comfort her children, and have a successful career – if this is her choice.  I want her to know that she may fail, but that she can get up the next day and try again.

But I also want her to know what an honor it is to be a woman.  To bring life into this world, and grace the earth with her presence.  I want her spray a bit of perfume on her neck so that when she hugs someone, the last thing they will remember is her scent when they pull away.  I want her to treat her body as the temple that is, and demand the same from others.  I want her to feel  comfortable in a long, flowing dress in Tuscany and confident in a suit with heels in New York City.

Above all, I want to give her the grace of my style, and for her to see the strength in her character.  I want her to know that she came from a long line of strong, beautiful women – who took pride in being the back bone of their family, but also took pride in being a feminine.

Simply put, I love being a woman.

Happy April!  I have a couple of exciting announcements!

First off, the launch of my website – Gabrielle Kai Photography!  There are still a few  issues that I need to work out, but for the most part, I am pretty happy with the finished result.  Let’s just say that I know more about html and css than I ever wanted to know.  Thanks for all of your feedback on my design – you guys are great!

This is definitely a goal that I envisioned for myself – a loving, encouraging space where I could proudly display my work.  Thank you for all of the wonderful comments and inspiration in this space. It is my hope that you continue to follow me on this journey!

Also, today is the grand opening of my shop!  A small selection of my images are available for purchase, and I plan to update frequently – so please stay tuned!

Finally, to celebrate – I am having my very first giveaway!  To enter, just head over to my shop, find a print you absolutely adore, and leave a comment here with the print name why you have chosen it!  I’ll leave comments open until Sunday, April 5 at 5PM Eastern time.  I’ll do this the old-fashioned way – all names will go in a hat, and my daughter, Gabrielle, will choose the winner who will be announced on Monday, April 6!

I am working on my own design and branding (be on the look-out for an entirely new look) for my blog and website.  I want it to be clean and inviting, and also reflect me and my work.
