Is it possible for you to slow down a bit?  You are growing so fast and I am trying to savor each and every moment!  And if you could sleep for more than 3 hours at night, that would be great too…..

It feels so good to finally sit down and share with you a bit of my life these past couple of weeks.  Oh how I have missed this space!  Thank you all so much for your well wishes for Sydney’s birth announcement – she is truly a joy.  This time around, I am a much more calm, more confident mother.

I truly forgot how hard having a newborn is!  But Sydney is so sweet, she makes the night time feedings worth it.  Gabrielle is a wonderful big sister, falling into her new “big sister” role so effortlessly.  It’s almost as if the baby has been here with us more than 3 weeks now.

It has definitely been a challenge to pick up my camera these past few months, but I am slowly but surely getting there.  One thing I do love is that newborns can’t run away from the camera as toddlers are so prone to do!

My world has once again changed, once more shifted in a new direction.  I am sure that my photography will follow!

We have fallen in love once again ♥

I have roughly 9 weeks left before the new baby is born.  We have chosen not to find out the sex of baby, so there is not much shopping that I can do, but I have bought the basics (just to fulfill this nesting feeling that is tugging at my heart)!

I cannot wait to kiss those ten fingers and ten toes that have been moving and kicking in my belly.  This second time around, I look forward to being more confident as a mother and enjoying this new baby.  I have a different view this time around, more of a calm waiting, since I know what to expect.

And of course, I am reminded how my love for photography deepened after the birth of my daughter.  My view of the world changed, my priorities shifted.  I am curious about what will be different this time around – how will this child affect my passion?

I don’t have the answers right now, but I hope to document my experience in this space.  I look forward to opening my heart to this new baby.

Gabrielle has started ballet class on Saturdays and she really loves it.  I don’t know who is more excited – me or her!

Have a wonderful weekend ~

My Sunday started with breakfast, but I was really devouring was my copy of Artful Blogging, so much inspiration.

I like to keep fresh flowers in the window near my front door.  They are beautiful in the morning light.

Sundays are definitely my days for laundry, as I’m sure every mother can understand.

On my bathroom vanity, I love to spread out all of my things.  Frankly, I just think they are too pretty to keep hidden in a drawer.

Fall sweaters hanging to dry.  I’m realizing now that I spend WAY to much time on laundry!

As I reflect on my day, I am reminded how grateful I am for my life, my family.  It’s the little things, the seemingly ordinary that makes my life so special.  Sure, there are days that hard, days where I’d like a “do-over”.  But today, my friends, I am grateful for my ordinary.
