Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the opening reception of  Fresh Perspectives 2009, a juried photography exhibit featuring 28 of Atlanta’s emerging photographers.  I am so honored to have two of my fine prints, “be happy” and “collect your thoughts“, included in this exhibit!  This is the very first time that my work has appeared in a gallery – and the experience was phenomenal!

I was joined by friends and family who came out to support me and my work.   Nervous, excited, humbled, proud….. just a few words that describe what I felt last night.  With a glass of wine in my hand, I took a moment to step back and take everything in – I want to remember this moment for a very long time!

And as I look back on this experience, I feel that I am proof that you can dream a little dream and make small strides each day towards your goal.  You just have to be willing to push through your fears and quiet those doubts that might creep in your mind.  You can do it.

I have recently enjoyed being included in a couple of juried photo exhibits. It IS truly an experience just like you described.

Your so right about the pushing through your fears and doubts. I’ve been going through a lot of those emotions lately, thanks for the words of encouragement.

Your work is phenomenal…! I am so, so very happy for you (I realize I don’t really know you, but blogs can be funny this way, no?) – congratulations on your first gallery exhibit… I loved reading this post, too. Beautiful, all of it – how it was written and what it had to say. And again, I peeked at your Etsy store and looked around your blog – you are such a talent..! Congratulations again. Just beautiful.
