a great find

gabriellekai_blackberriesImagine my surprise over the weekend when my father tells me that we have huge blackberry bush growing on the very edge of our backyard.  No way!

I went out to inspect for myself, and lo and behold – we do have a blackberry bush in our backyard, AND it was full of berries.  As you can imagine, we spent the rest of the afternoon picking fresh blackberries.

I can’t believe that I overlooked this gem in my very own space!

we have bunnies. lots of them. in a very suburban neighbourhood. they are eating everything, my lettuce, my flowers. can they come over? i am sure they would just love a berry. i don’t want to sound mean but i am not loving the bunnies this year.

The squirrels are eating our strawberries. I don’t mind sharing…just so they don’t take them all. Oh, and the gold finches are eating the chard. Who knew?

What a cool find! Can you actually eat them? We have them growing wild here in Tennessee, but I’ve never been adventurous enough to taste. :)

how are there berries already?!

we have blackberry bushes all around this neighborhood (they overrun everything and have to be cut back periodically). I love it. My walks in the summer (when they’re ripe) are very slow because I essentially walk and eat and walk and eat. Atlas even tries to pick berries off the bushes himself.

Delicious shot! I love the pops of color against the soft green!
