discovery project – five month review

daily-discovery-may-small

Five months.  I cannot believe I have documented my life everyday so far this year.  This completes the month of May for my Discovery Project.

If you are keeping up, you can read my reviews from January – April 2009.

I definitely feel like I can see my photography style changing and evolving as I learn and experiment more.  I feel more at peace now behind the camera.  It’s almost as if I can “see” now – hard to explain…..

One thing that I did change this month is updating once a week.  This has taken loads of pressure off of me.  Before, I would upload and edit photos every evening.  This past month, with an impromptu vacation and a sick toddler, that just wasn’t possible – I almost thought that I would not be able to continue.  I decided to change things up a bit, and it has worked wonders.  I no longer have to stress about uploading every day, I do it at my own pace.

My favorite from this month was taken on May 20, 2009:

My lesson for this month is that it’s okay to make changes when things don’t go as planned, as they most certainly will.  It’s important to adjust, make changes, and move on.

May was certainly a good month for me, and I hope it was for you as well.  I’m looking forward to all the promise June has to offer!

Stunning photography. Big lessons. I completely get it and agree that it is important/good to change things up to make them work for you (me). After all…don’t we make the rules for ourselves in how our days flow?

Glad little one is better.

Change is good and what a valuable lesson to adjust with changing circumstances. Sometimes, unpredictability is just what we need.

Wonderful captures, as always.

This post strikes me as one spoken from the heart — a very good thing, I think! It is interesting to look at the “Month in Review” collage. Beautiful work. Inspiring me to look a little more closely at my personal surroundings.

Your photos are beautiful, and congratulations to you for feeling more at peace behind the camera! It’s so fun to learn and grow at the things we love.

I know when I stopped pressuring myself to blog or read blogs, it alleviated a lot of stress. Of course, now I rarely blog and I have no visitors – ha ha- but it’s a little price to pay when I have a little one who needs my attention.

It’s amazing how much time it does take to process and post on a daiy basis. You’ve given me an idea on how I can cut down on some of the time it takes. Busy month you’ve had – well done!

my favorite is four rows down, two columns in. but they are all gorgeous.

I’m glad you found a way to feel more peaceful with the uploading process!
