a tale of two friends

vintage-camerasCan’t quite put a finger on why I have had the Holga for 4 weeks and haven’t given it spin!

This weekend, I think it’s about time to change that.  I’ll be putting my DSLR down and picking up actual film…

I can’t think of a better way to welcome the month of May!

Film, what is that? I have been thinking about treating my dSLR like it is film………..like making just one exposure for Project 365 instead of 20 er I mean 50. Maybe I will do that in June, after I read Understanding Exposure.

I can’t tell you the last time I shot a roll of film. Have fun! I look forward to seeing some results.

As I struggle to learn about exposure, shutter speed, aperture, ISO and light metering, my husband thinks it would be wise for me to set aside the DSLR and take his 35 mm film camera and use it for two weeks. Forced learning!
Have fun!

Have a great time this weekend with these great cameras! I just shot some 4×5′s with my speed graphic and the joy of the suspense of waiting for the film to develop was refreshing. Getting the finished film in my hand was like turning the last page of a great novel… satisfying.

I just won an ebay auction for a Kodak Duraflex. I wanted to give the TTV a try, thanks to your shots that you’ve posted. I have a 25+ year old 35mm Canon that I still used up until a few short years ago. Have fun with your Holga!
